Zinfandel gets so excited when we pull into the vet's office parking lot. I'm very thankful for all of them there. Angie, the receptionist is awesome and loves on Zinfandel so much. I'm pretty sure this is why she loves going in. She enjoys seeing the two house cats and all the vet techs and vets. We were there, yesterday, for a check-up on her ears and I remembered to take a photo. I can't believe she is almost a year old and we don't have any photos of her at the vet, before this.

Does she have an ear infection too? Merlot went on Saturday and is now on meds to fix his ear infection.
ReplyDeleteZinfandel came down with an ear infection in August. And it was a nasty one, it took two rounds of meds to get it cleared up in one of her ears. So we were going to try and determine if it was environmental or food. So I've been cleaning her ears with Opi Otic until a hard freeze then we stopped and tested. There was a little bit of yeast, but no infection in one ear and totally clear in another. So we're going to stay with the cleaner a couple of times a week as a preventative.
DeleteHow do you know if your dog has an ear infection?
ReplyDeleteZinfandel showed no signs. She didn't shake or scratch, her ear wasn't red or drooping. But she had a yeast smell. This all happened at the time she went in for her spaying so they confirmed it at that appointment.
DeleteWell, with my dogs, it's always been they shake their head a lot, one ear might even droop and depending on the kind of infection, will be filled with gunk or smell like yeast.
