Where has Zinfandel Been?

We hope you all are having a wonderful summer, albeit a very hot one! We were on vacation last week, camping with no electronics. YAY! Zinfandel learned about many new things and did well! She jumped off docks to swim, she slept in a tent and left the squirrels and chipmunks running through camp alone. We ended our vacation with a boat trip on a local lake, Saturday. Zinfandel enjoyed watching the water move under the boat, checked the engine out and didn't jump over board.
Waiting while camp is set-up.

Leaving the wildlife alone.

Jumping off the dock.

Elevator up, please!

Swimming has taken over football as Zinfandel's most enjoyed sport.

The end of this trail.

Another trail to tackle.

This crate rocks, mom and dad sleep in here and my bed from home is in here.

Sister Visit and Another Wine Party

Zinfandel and Kristi made another trip to K.C., this past week. We spent three nights and two days with Steve and Chardonnay. (Missed you, Brian!) We invited the local wine pups for a puppy party. Zinfandel is not used to that heat and humidity. She was very much a princess, letting the other puppies chase and play while she watched from the deck. (I think she'd rather hang with the humans than play with the puppies.) We'll unpack tonight and pack for our camping trip, tomorrow. Wish us luck in the tent!

All that playing makes for worn out puppies!

Labbies Everywhere!

Zinfandel got to play with two 5 year old, brother labs, last night. They were super gentle with her and she tried to get Moose to chase her, but he was content to play with his Kong. And when she and Cooper would get a stick together, Cooper would let her bring it all the way back. So spoiled being a little puppy!

Please chase me, Moose!

If you give me the stick, Cooper, I'll tell you the secret of bat ears.

The Past 10 Days

We can't believe so much time has passed since our last posting! We unplugged from the internet, cell phones, etc., last week as we were on vacation in the mountains. Zinfandel had lots of fun as there was a lot more time off leash than on leash! She attended her first parade, (Who knew they threw so much candy out for all those running kiddos?), played in a mountain stream, climbed on odd surfaces, learned to stay away from the coyote, hung in the hammock, waited for the rains to come to fill her pool up and learned to 'stay' while the humans played all sorts of games that involved throwing things that she really wanted (washers, bocci balls, pong balls, etc.).
Then yesterday was the dreaded drive from CO to MN. Being older and bigger made the trip not quite as easy as last month. But we still did well and are now enjoying MN. We went on our first shopping outings (we don't like to shop, but Zinfandel needs to learn) - the liquor store (hey she's from the wine litter) and Target. Tonight we hope to go swimming in the lake. Ah summer and puppies!
Hang Time!
Waiting for the Fourth of July Parade to Start.
Watching the Mounted Color Guard.
Ahhhh, cool, mountain water!
Climbing on a Boulder.
Kristi and Lee always take a picture at the top of a Colorado pass. This is Zinfandel's first pass. Zinfandel wasn't sure what was going on, as Lee was setting the auto-timer on the camera and came running around to her side.

You promise this will be more fun than yesterday's 15 hour trip?

Not too bad of a heel in Target.

Nice sit stay while Kristi looks at shoes.
